NEW YEAR- NEW BEGINNING

New year resolutions? Yes or No?

HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!!! Finally its here already, who else was getting tired of 2016 like I was? So its 2017 now, wow, its gonna take some getting used to, lol. I'm so very excited for this year, I don't know but there's always something about the beginning of the year. It's like you've received a blank slate to start writing all over again. It's cool, the feeling I mean, I like it.

It's that time of the year when you start afresh(blank slate) and most people do this by making what we call New Year Resolutions which they hope serves as a reminder and guides them in achieving their set goals so they can lead happier, more fulfilling lives. Some people however seem to think the whole "New Resolution" thing is a bit cliche and are usually cynical about it. New Year Resolution in my opinion? Great Idea. Thing is I can hardly discipline myself enough to go through with all of them, most people face this problem as well. So where making resolutions is one thing, going through with them all is another. My advice? try making your goals short and precise, don't be vague, know what you want and go for it.Also try making some short term goals, by doing that you end up achieving more by the end of the year than you would if all your goals were long term.

I for one have long since drawn up a list of things I plan on doing/changing this year. My list features a lot of plans I have for school, my job, the blog(changes are already being made if you didn't notice). I also plan on travelling more than I did last year, and most of all I've made a plan to work on myself. If you're not planning on working on yourself then what are you doing, you should strive to be a better you everyday. I used a lot you's in the last sentence, lol. One thing I plan on not doing this year is depression...like no way, nah..not doing that, reason being it can suck you dry, turn you into one sad, gloomy, closedup, envious person, talk about plain unhealthy. Another thing is constantly comparing myself to what I see on tv and social media. It can drain one I tell you. On Instagram(you should totally follow me by the way (@_deche_) I shared a piece I came across last year by Pierre Alex Jeanty on this. I've come to terms or rather accepted the fact that right now I'm not as confident in myself as I want to be and I've consciously decided to work on that.

New year resolutions? Yes or No?

I intended on making this post as short as I could, so I'll be rounding up right about now. 2017 is going to be an awesome year and this is not me just being optimistic, its something I'm certain of, so don't fret, just chill and enjoy. Once again HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Until next time,
Didi
